Click Start , right-click My Computer , and then click Properties . 2. If necessary, click the General tab, and read the System Information on the General tab. 3. Click Cancel . f Task 2: Verify the Correct Microsoft Management Console (MMC) version is Installed 1. Click Start , click Run , type mmc , and then click OK . 2. Click the Help menu and click About Microsoft Management Console . It shows version 2.0 and must be updated. 3. Click OK to close Help. 4. Close MMC. f Task 3: Install the Correct MMC Version 1. Click Start , click Run , type E:\MMC3.0\WindowsServer2003-KB907265-x86- ENU.exe , and then click OK . 2. Click Next to being the installation. 3. Click I Agree , and then click Next . 4. Click Finish . f Task 4: Verify the Internet Information Services (IIS) and Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Installation 1. Click Start and point to Administrative Tools . 2. Read the list of Administrative Tools. IIS Manager is not listed and only the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 management tools are installed. Click Start , point to Control Panel , and then click Add or Remove Programs . 2. Click Add/Remove Windows Components . 3. Check Application Server , and click Details . 4. Select ASP.NET , click OK , and then click Next . 5. Click Finish . 6. Close Add or Remove Programs . f Task 6: Install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 1. Click Start , click Run , type E:\dotnet2.0\dotnetfx.exe , and then click OK . 2. Click Next to begin the installation. 3. Check I accept the terms of the License Agreement , and click Install . 4. Click Finish . f Task 7: Verify Microsoft Windows PowerShell 1. Click Start , point to Control Panel , and click Add or Remove Programs . 2. Read the list of currently installed programs. Microsoft Windows PowerShell is not listed and is not installed. 3. Close Add or Remove Programs . f Task 8: Install Microsoft Windows PowerShell 1. Click Start , click Run , type E:\Windows PowerShell\WindowsServer2003- KB926139-x86-ENU.exe , and then click OK . 2. Click Next to begin the installation. 3. Click I Agree and click Next . 4. Click Next to accept the default installation location. 5. Click Install . 6. Click Finish . Click Start , click Run , type E:\DotNet2Hotfix\NDP20-KB926776-X86.exe , and then click OK . 2. Click OK to install the hotfix. 3. Click I Accept to accept the licensing agreement. 4. Click OK to close the dialog box indicating successful installation of the hotfix. f Task 10: Verify DNS Settings 1. Click Start , point to Administrative Tools , and then click DNS . 2. In the left pane, expand SYD-LAB , expand Forward Lookup Zones , expand _msdcs.northwindtraders.com , expand dc , and then click _tcp . Notice that SYD- LAB is a domain controller and the DNS records are properly recorded. 3. Close dnsmgmt . 4. Click Start , click Run , type cmd , and then click OK . 5. Type ipconfig /all and press ENTER. Notice that the server is using 127.0.0.1 as the DNS server. This means it is using itself for DNS. 6. Close the Command Prompt window. f Task 11: Review Hardware Requirements 1. Click Start , right-click My Computer , and then click Properties . This computer has a 32-bit processor and insufficient memory for production deployment. However, this is sufficient for testing purposes. 2. Click Cancel . 3. Click Start , and then click My Computer . 4. Right-click Local Disk (D:) , and then click Properties . On the General tab, you can see that there is enough free disk space to install Exchange Server 2007, and that the disk is formatted as NTFS. 5. Click OK and close My Computer .
